Abel Cagara is the General Manager of Islas Tankers Seatransport Corporation (ITSC) and Batangas Bay Carriers, Inc. (BBCI). Heading the MSL’s Tanker Shipping, he ensures the profitability of the cluster while operating at a high safety standard across the organization. 

In 2005, Abel joined Magsaysay as Operations Planning Department Head of NMC Container Lines, Inc. (NMCCLI) and in 2013 became the General Manager of ITSC and BBCI, where he is responsible for the safety and operational activities of the local vessels.  

Actively involved in promoting the safety and operational performance of the vessels, ITSC and BBCI have been recognized by the Shell SOAR (Supply & Operations Awards and Recognition), previously known as Shell MASTERS (Maritime Safety and Technical Efficiency Recognition System) Awards, for its commitment to be a reliable shipping and logistics partner, providing cost-efficient solutions at high-safety standards.  

With almost 20 years in the industry, he also represents MSL in the Philippine Petroleum Sea Transport Association (PHILPESTA) and the Philippine Inter-Island Shipping Association (PISA).
